photoI normally go through life with my feet in the clouds, and head firmly on the ground. It's more fun that way (although I like to swap ends occasionally). When I've got my feet and head on the ground at the same time, my arse sticks in the air. That can be fun too.

We're all used to searching the internet, whether it's searching the whole web via a search engine, or just searching the contents of a website, or searching one's own computer for a file. But there's almost always a button marked SEARCH to click, to start the process.

In English, 'search' can be a verb or a noun.

I've just visited a Greek website, where the 'search' button had been translated as 'anazitisi' which is the noun - so it's like 'a search'.

But I always think of the 'search' button as being a verb, commanding the browser to 'search!'.

I doubt that many of you will have thought about it, or will give a damn. But, for those that have or do, how do you perceive the 'search' button? Is 'search' being used as a noun or a verb? What do other languages use (if they have separate words for 'search' as a noun and verb)?

I've never thought about it before now, but I would have said it was a verb in this case.
