I upgrade my i pod for one of the new slim 30g video ipods last year (thats how long i've been trying to solve this problem!) when i first connected to i tunes it asked me if i wanted to download my exisiting library to the i pod i said yes and it transfered the library to the new i pod. |

"one being to restore the software. Only thing with this is it will delete *all* the data from the iPod - including all the tunes you already have on it, so I'd make that the last thing to try...." |

iTunes gives you two options - transferring stuff manually or letting it sync automatically. You might have set it to the wrong mode. |
