I've noticed Sinéad is rarely talked about on OUT so thought I'd give her a mention.

She's finished her new album 'Theology' out on 22nd June. It has two sides, one (the 'London' side) has full on band backing and the other (the 'Dublin' side) is just her, guitar and minimum accompaniment.

I've always been a big fan of her works up until 'Throw Down Your Arms' a year or so ago. Then she went on to have her fourth baby with yet another man, her voice sounded rough and it seemed she wished to persue a much more reggae direction. Even I had thought it was time to call it a day.

Then came the news of a new album, entitled 'Theology'. OK, so it will be a return to the rock/indie/acoustic sound but would this be more about burning down Babylon with the hand of Jah the Almighty?

Maybe it is, but it doesn't seem so force fed having listened to some of the songs. Most recently she performed at Dublin castle on the 6th May and her formerly disillusioned fans have been waxing lyrical about her latest outings.

I watched a clip on our favourite video site and having watched all 45 seconds of it I am back to being a Sinéad fan, which makes me very happy as we've been through loads together :) It's not the 'performance' per se but everything around it that shone through I felt, and rings of the ol' fun and wacky Sinéad.

Here's the clip so you can see what I mean:

Anyhoo, I'm sure you all have a wide variety of views about this unique artist and probably quite rightly so in some cases. But I thought I'd be a little voice for her in this small community as she deserves a second look.

Those who lost all interest in her in the mid 90s after her most 'offensive' shennanigans, I implore you to seek out her 2000 album 'Faith & Courage' and tell me that this largely ignored album didn't deserve higher praise. It's become one of my favourite Summer albums.
