Topic started by 1612 Havenhurst Off Mulholland (piddy)

photoageing indie chap (45 at the last count!) who loves people, loves life (especially after being at deaths door twice !) and is looking for intelligent conversation, wry and bawdy humour and someone to bounce off mentally within the confines of day to day living...I don't bite so feel free to message me, am never knowingly sarcastic :)

wow...what a phenomenal new album...melodious, inspiring, joyful and cathartic..

Sinead O Connor adds beautifully to the proceedings on a couple of tracks and please correct me if i'm wrong (as I Have no info to hand) it sounds like Craig Armstrong (massive attack and film composer) has done the string arrangements for the album and these are just magnificent..

This is just such a good album and as such has taken pride of place as Piddys top album of the year so far...

I am so excited - off to see him on the 6th Oct.

I didn't think the album was on general release till the 24th?

I am a philistine - have none of his music - should I rush out and buy?

Umm. Now as much as I love Ian Brown I just can't get my head around that new anti war single. It sounds laboured to me and the lyrics are cringeworthy in places. Must just be me, it's been number one in the XFM top seven all week.

YEY! Popped out today and got my copy. With an orchestral mix CD on it too.

Will be listening to that on the drive home.

Well after a good listen I have to say I am mightily impressed. Like with his other albums, in my opinion, the songs he releases tend not to be anything like the best on the album.

I'm loving "Sister Rose" (awesome) and "Goodbye to the Broken" (heart strings pulled stretched and snapped on the M25).

If you were taking a look for the first time I would recommend maybe trying these from i-tunes as a taster.

This album is magnificent.

Such a breath of fresh air.
