A topic from Miscellaneous: People, In Memory

He was 81, so he had a good innings. He'd had a succession of strokes, the worst last January. He was very disabled but able to live at home with my mother. Last week he caught pneumonia and died yesterday evening. My mother, sister and I are agreed that he had almost no quality of live left, that all he could really enjoy now was food and drink and occasionally he could hear well enough to enjoy music. It's probably for the best that he died now. I feel more relief than sadness, though I will miss him.
