Hazel Court, perhaps my favourite actress whose name sounds like a block of flats, has died at the age of 82. Hers was Hammer Horror's original heaving bosom when she appeared alongside Peter Cushing in the studio's gothic breakthrough The Curse of Frankenstein. Some critics of the time focused almost as much on her chest measurements as they did on the film's blood and gore. She became a specialist in the genre, appearing in the Roger Corman films The Raven, The Premature Burial and The Masque of the Red Death (probably her best part as the wicked Juliana) and in trashier movies like Devil Girl from Mars (sadly not in the title role) and the appalling Doctor Blood's Coffin.

She was one of the genre's great scream queens, and she'll be sadly missed.
