I'm thinking of going on a first date.

Aye, I am.

It'll be a date sometime in 2009 - probably a late spring one, maybe March or April.

On this future date, I'll be there with someone else other than me i.e. there'll be two of us and as it's a long way off I want to plan it in every detail to make sure it goes just the way a first date should go, especially when there's another person involved.

The date-person, I reckon, will be someone off of OUT so it's possible that he's even reading this posting of mine even before we've actually met - or dated even!

So - having never yet spoken (in real life) to an OUTer and not being very well up on real-life chatting and dating I need to ask all my fellow OUTers for some date advice...

Now I know, that no OUTer would ever, ever shag on a first date, so that's an easy issue to future-plan, there's no issue - no shagging! on a first date and that's just the Law! :-)

So... the next question that is spinning around mindwise while I future-plan the imminent Spring Date...

Do we TALK i.e. chat on the first date - or is that just too seedy, pushy and a bit over the top?!

I don't want to put my new possible life-partner, significant other, bf, Civil Partner in an awkward position - especially as we will probably be in public during this date...

We could meet @ a Cyber C@fé and login to OUT and chat virtually and then maybe after a while make eye contact across the VDU's and even smile...carefully and discreetly of course!

SO, should we TALK on the first date or wot!?
