.... very thick brickwork?

I live in a one bed flat, first floor but with its own ground floor entrance. I know for a fact that if the above is possible, it'll be oodles cheaper to undo if and when I move out of here in years to come. The front door is one of those modern steel framed fake wood looking things that Housing Associations put in these days. If I were to modify it I'd have to replace it and I believe I'm looking at a good £300 - £400 for that so that's out of the window!

I thought the wall by the front door slightly higher up so the little buggers can get in and out from the stairs inside, would be good, but its a full foot in thickness, maybe a bit more, and is cavity insulated as well. I know nuffink about building work and just wondered if anyone had ever had a cat flap put in through brickwork. I know it can be done to some degree cos most of the cat flaps you can buy online include brickwork, but so thick? Am I living in dreamland?

I've the same although I've put a flap in it. No doubt when I move they'll charge me for a new door but needs must.
