I can't keep on top of the mess I create, so I'm wondering if getting one of these contract cleaning firms, that completely clean the house, would be a good idea. There are lots of leaflets flying around advertising the service for £99. What does one get for one's money? I'd like a complete clean and tidy, including steam cleaning the carpets and upholstery. |

I'd turn it round the other way Charles;write a one page or so specification of what you want them to do , and get them to price against that, then if you get more than one firm to quote you get to compare apples with apples, and once they do the work both sides have a better chance to know where they are. |
