photoPeople don't believe me that I'm shy face-2-face, despite being cheeky on Forums. Orginally from the West Country, but been living in Reading for 16 years. I tend to be a bit of a workaholic, but I've learnt my lesson and getting out more and relaxing, thanks to good friends. I am into the arts & crafts, doing & seeing, including theatre, cinema, etc. Joined OUT for both Gay Male & Female friends.

Are you aware of the following petition to the Prime Minister to oppose the 36% reduction in funding for gay men's HIV prevention in London

A recent consultation document issued by Kensington & Chelsea Primary Care Trust (PCT), on behalf of all London PCTs, proposes that from April 2008 onwards, the 'indicative allocation' for all gay men's HIV prevention commissioned, by the NHS, on a pan-London basis will be up to £1,145,960.

The maximum proposed budget of £1,145,960 for HIV prevention serving gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (MSM) represents about £7.64 per year, per man in the city (assuming there are 150,000 MSM resident in London). This would mean that London PCTs will invest less in the prevention of HIV infection in 2008 than they did in 1998, when the precursor to the current London Gay Men's HIV Prevention Programme (now LGMHPP, previously called 4PI, 5PI and 6PI) invested over £2 million per year in HIV prevention with gay men.

It must be a bug as I signed it as well before doing posting the Forum. By the looks of it the petition has not been on the Government website that long. I have noticed that I am getting the same response for all new Petitions when I sign them.
