A topic from Body, Health & Wellbeing: HIV

#197100Thu 19/04/07 09:17

Just moved to the UK from abroad. Changed job and had to take personal life insurance.

The questionnaire asked if I have ever had an HIV test. If the answer was yes then I had to give them the right to contact my UK GP.

Now I dont get it? Why if I have had a test should I have to disclose this? It did not ask if I was positive or had results ONLY if I have ever had a test.

I did not tick the box. This is a lie as when I was 18 I had to have a test to go to Russia to live. Is my policy invalid? Am I a big fat fibber?

Anyway the policy came through and I am insured but is this a waste of my money since I was not completely honest?
