Surprise surprise!

No, it's not Cilla presenting a Saturday night laugh-fest.

In fact, there's nothing to laugh about here.

The Tories and their Liberal chums are to bring the oh-so-brilliant free market and the all-perfect private sector - you know, the ones that function perfectly and absorb all risks - to the NHS in England.

Oops - there's just one problem. The Health and Social Care Bill ( http://services.parliament.uk/bills/2010-11/healthandsocialcare.html ) sets out the destruction of the NHS and puts its future - if you could call it that - in the hands of money-grabbing corporations and healthcare professionals who have a definite conflict of interest.

But don't just take my word for it. Have a little look at http://www.channel4.com/news/leaked-document-shows-how-doctors-can-profit-from-nhs-reform and make up your own mind.

Looks like the UK is going to become the 51st state of the US of A after all.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

You could sit back and do nothing. But that mightn't be a very good idea. Because, if the Tories and their LibDem bedfellows get their way, your health - your life - might be in the hands of a bunch of money-grabbers who have no interest in whether you live or die.

If you do care, maybe you should contact your MP to let them know that this not-so-backdoor privatisation of one of the UK's most cherished institutions is just not acceptable.

Go to http://www.theyworkforyou.com/ and get to work.

Your views are, of course, welcome.

Can we ConDem that appellation to a painful death, it wasn't even very good when Labour's spin doctor's dreamt it up.
