"A girl of six who sat on a needle sticking out of a train seat will have to wait six months to find out if she has contracted HIV. Khia Green had just boarded with her family when she jumped up after feeling a stabbing pain in her right thigh.

Mum Georgina, 42, said: 'Khia said something had dug into her leg. When I went to pick it up I realised what it was. I was shaking. 'I've not been able to sleep properly since it happened. My worst fear is she doesn't get the all-clear.'

The mum of seven, of Kemsley, Kent, added: 'I'm going to find out if there is any legal action I can take.' Khia has been given an injection against hepatitis B and an initial blood test. The youngster will have more tests in March and June. Southeastern Railway apologised for the 'distressing situation', which took place at nearby Sittingbourne station around Christmas"

Slightly odd. I wonder if it was done as some kind of a joke?

I also wonder if she was offered PEP treatment.
