Right - I'm seriously thinking of getting a sat nav unit.

I got lost in Manchester last week - even with a good up-to-date map next to me. And spent a good 20 minutes in the rush hour circling where I needed to be until I go to a point that I knew I was heading in the wrong direction.

Halfords are currently selling the Sony NV-U52 for £99.99. It's a pretty basic, UK and Ireland only model but that is what I am wanting. I am particularly impressed by the way the mount folds into the unit when not in use, so that I can take the whole thing with me when I leave the car and avoid attracting too much attention from the thieves.

Has anybody got experience of the Sony systems? Are they particularly good or bad?
