Lube - sticky or slippy?

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - martini in one hand - burger in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "Whooooooo what a ride!"

This springs from a comment on quickfind:343962 of all places...

Is this right?

I mean, we all know lube is to make it easier for things to slide into other things by reducing friction, sure.
But as anyone who has ever had lube on their hands when they don't want it will know, it is stickier than most industrial glues!

So, if one had a hand covered in lube and was clutching at straws (ask not why one woudl be doing this!), woudl the straws slip through one's fingers because of the lube, or would the lube's stickiness cause the straws to adhere more readily to one's grasping digits?

Not that I'm bored, you understand.
This is serious scientific knowledge.
