Life's too short for Gaydar profiles or playing mind games. Neither scene nor non-scene, neither superficial nor deep, sort of arty but not dangerously so. Seeking similar for conversations both cultured and silly, and occasionally dirty dancing and stuff our mothers warned us about. Brain cells and opinions a must. Despite what the bar thingie says, I do reply to everyone. Oh, and I'm "nice" too, apparently, so God help us all.

Does anyone know whatever happened to the great Jo Purvis who used to run the Sunday tea dances in London at Stallions in the 80s, and then at the White Swan and (I think) the Black Cap in the 90s? Is she still DJing? |

i remember those from the old LLGC in Cowcross Street - great fun, no attitude, you got all sorts there, from twinks to leather queens, bull dykes and drag queens. I was just coming out in the early 90s and I met a lot of friends there because it was such a welcoming environment. And the opportunity to dance to all sorts of things you would never dream of doing otherwise... |

Ah, the old London Lesbian and Gay Centre - I remember two butch Argentinean leather queens trying to teach me how to tango there.... |

The two ladies who live next door self-describe as such... hence I've got used to it in conversation, but I probably wouldn't use it in polite conversation. |
