How come nobody told me about the Quebec?

OK, I know the reputation of the Quebec (Pub near marble arch, for those outside London). I know it's supposed to be 'Jurassic Park' full of old codgers, and stuff.

But I popped in tonight for a quick pint after a hard days xmas shopping on Oxford Street, and it was full of really horny blokes!!

Not the sort of horny blokes that a Ku Bar twink would like, but generally fit, stunning blokes in their 30s and 40s (and some very well preserved 50s). Just my type. A very smart, dignified, after work suited crowd, enjoying a glass of wine, and a quiet chat (helped by the lack of music, yes NO MUSIC IN A GAY BAR!!)

First I spotted the STUNNING barman, probably the cutest barman I've EVER seen in a gay bar. Bit too muscely for me, but uber cute all the same. Then I was cruised by a gorgeous bloke, who looked like a porn star from the 90s that had put on a bit of weight. After a quick chat he indeed turned out to be a very well known porn star (and I even own 2 of his films, blush) and he still looks well HOT!!

Then a stunning 40s couple came in and snogged at the bar (god, I wish I was part of that sandwich), and a couple of Barcode-type muscle marys wandered in, but were a bit camp (hey, you can take the boy out of barcode, but...)

Basically, what I'm trying to say, is this place was grown-up heaven. Gorgeous mature, sexy blokes, all over 30 (actually mostly over 40) and looking hot!

Okay there were a few really old guys. But I'm not gonna insult them. We'll all be there one day. But it was a totally different crowd to the similarly-aged Kings Arms, where I rarely fancy anyone. These were just natural blokes, in their prime, not pretending to be some north american fetish (i.e. bears), but just being themselves, and comfortably so.

Anyway, I've just got home, a bit pissed, but I wanted to say that the Quebec does NOT live up to it's reputation. It's not for everyone. And I'm sure it's probably very different on a friday/saturday night. If you're looking for a Shane Ward lookalike, he's not here. But if you'd rather shag George Clooney, you're in luck.

I'll definitely be going again.
