photoA man of opposites; laid back, sociable when you get to know me, charming, but a little quiet and maybe mysterious at first. Different? Maybe - but it's all part of the charm :0) I will talk to anyone about anything - meaning of life and universe down to trivia. My curiosity is one of my greatest strengths. I'm settled in Guildford and love being close to London. In California until 24 June

So I have been compiling the profile of my ideal man. Hopefully i'm not being too picky......

He would be compassionate, serious, yet funny. Laid back, but intense about the things that mattered. He would be fundamentally a nice person, easy going and agreeable, happy to compromise on the small things, but would stand up for the important things

He's be interested in music (any kind really) but must on all accounts like Bob Dylan (and liking Abba and Beethoven woudl be good too). He should be interested in travel, mountains, theoretical physics, cosmology, art, architecture and history. He should care about politics, the environment and current affairs, but not be obsessed by them. A detailed knowledge of Tolkein and Harry Potter woudl be useful too. But he should also be passionate about something which i know nothing about. He'd probably be pretty fit and a keen walker, and know at least soemthing about sport

He should not be too proud to go to G_A-Y and dance like a loon, in fact this would be a major advantage. But he shoudl also enjoy eating in nice restaurants, going to live gigs, walking along beaches in storms, and relaxing in country pubs by roaring log fires. and he really must enjoy red wine

He should be able to tell good jokes, but to know that sometimes silence is good too

He would need to be very patient and understanding of my foibles. And he woudl need to be good at pretending to be interested when i get obsessive about something. He'd need to be supportive when i need it, but to be able to give me some space when i need it

and, because i'm fundamentally shallow, he should also be very good looking, probably slim and fairly athletic, most likely younger than me (sorry, don't mean to be ageist but i'm trying to be completely honest here) and of course wonderful in bed

umm, that's all i need really (though i may yet think of some other stuff). Come on, there must be loads of guys like that on here!

(note: i may be prepared to compromise in some areas)

but what is your ideal man?
