or do you?

I have fallen hook line and sinker in love with my best friend! I know 'don't do it' I can hear some of you shouting and I know that is the right thing to do.

He's been my best friend for the last 3 and a half years, he helped me come out, he helped me through my divorce, took me to my first gay bar, was there when my first gay relationship fell apart. And I too have been there for him when he got close to a nervous breakdown when his relationship ended.

We do almost everything together and are both looking for another relationship/whatever, and I'm starting to get really jealous when he gets any attention or when he talks about guys he fancies. To make it worse I get no attention at all (he doesn't get a lot but its more than me!) I don't even get anywhere on the gaydar meat market!! I've just had lunch with him and he was telling me about this guy he met last night and will probably see again next week. I just felt like shouting "but what about me - I f***g love you and really want to get together."

I'm scared that if I do say anything our friendship will end - and I can't afford for that to happen - he really does mean the world to me. But I've seen guys that fancy him fall by the way side when he doesn't fancy them and I don't want to be one of them!

Aaaarrrgggh I wish I wasn't such an emotional fuck up right now!!! I seem to spend most of my time not quite on the verge of tears but not far from it!

At least I've got my kids to distract me for the next week - but then again we are meeting my best friend for lunch and spending the afternoon together tomorrow.
(Here's looking to another shitty weekend!!)

Why is love such a difficult emotion to deal with?
