www.Pride-Parents.co.uk is a site designed for lesbian parents, singles or couples to go and socialise with each other. Its a place where we can all get help and advice on everyday issues we face as lesbian parents or just make friends. Please join and check us out and if you know of any other lesbian parents please spread the word

Our local LGB group went on for ages, at my request about the much heralded gay parenting group. I offered to set it all up but they insisted they could do a good job so I left them to it. I'd like to say 'to my disbelief' they did set up a gay parenting group sure enough but it was just for lesbians because, so I was told, we don't get many gay fathers showing an interest! 'Hello, one here that started the damn process',.

Why can we not just be gay parents? Why do we have to have lesbian parents and gay men who are parents and never the two shall meet? How different is gay parenting for lesbians and gay men? My kids still have the same issues of bullying and the local chavs showed no preference when they hounded both my family and that of a lesbian couple out of their homes a few years back, they just saw us as gay parents, something we seem incapable of doing ... or is it really just a cover to get a shag? That's what people will think, why else do we need to keep the genders apart?

Why even call this 'Pride-Parenting'? It is not about being gay just about being a woman and it kinda sucks you know?

By the way, I think it is just as wrong to have all men groups like this as well. I do run an internet group for gay fathers and that was a toughy to set up. I eventually agreed to men only just because it seemed that the men generally got the worse deal when it came to previous heterosexual type relationships. The sad thing is, I think we could have lesbians joining and it'd be OK, quite refreshing, it's got too big though, the members wouldn't like it now.

Hell, sod it, I am gonna go write to them right now and see what they think, maybe I am just imagining their objections, lesbian mothers who used to be married must have shit to deal with too right?
