This is a single option poll: "A recent survey suggests that 30% of gat men and lesbians expect to encounter discrimination if they were to try to enrol a child at primary or secondary school http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2008/apr/01/equality.gayrights For the purpose of this poll, I am asking if you yourself would expect this, and whether this is based on experience or assumption"

If I ever have children I will most likely enroll them at my school so see no foreseeable problem.

As far as one can tell as a teacher, and what I know of school governance there should not be any issue on the enrollment of a child regardless of the family unit. Consideration only and should need to be taken if there is a conflict between parents (ie custody battles happening at the school gate) or a special educational need needs to be taken into account.

You may however run into problems if you are trying to enroll in a Roman Catholic School. Some do scrutinise their applicants thoroughly as spaces are at a premium. However no State run school of CoE school which is part aided should ask such questions. If so you are within your rights to appeal to Local Authority and would I imagine have grounds for a discrimination case against management and/or governors at said school. However some Local Authorities now take charge of all applications and often schools don't have a say who goes there whether they have applied or not. It will depend very much on where you live and local policy.

This is of course as far as I am aware.

Hope this is some help. If not I'll home tutor for you!
