Not sure about 'new' but certainly this and any other similar site is worth visiting and signing up to even if you feel as a gay dad that you don't have issues. Generally speaking these things are not sit on the couch sort of places but just informal virtual gatherings where guys can chat about the specific issues of being a gay dad, when to tell the kids, telling other people, moving on and any amount of difficult things which crop up now and then.

Contrary to his protestations of this being a 'new' site, Keith has been involved with such things for a great many years and will by now have gained a vast wealth of experiences. So, any issues at all, go have a chat or if you just want to meet up with other guys who won't freak when you mention the kids, that's the place.

In the interest of fairness, there are other sites too and you know, if it makes you happy it doesn't much matter which one you join.

I think there is a bit of confusion.
The GayDads-UK group has been up and running for the last 9 years since I founded it in 1999.

It is the website that is new, it is now totally interactive with member profile pages, pictures, chat, events, forum, business services, member search by county.

We are being featured on Gaydar radio next week and GayTimes in March.

Cheers,
Keith

Thanks, it has cost a fortune, but I that I will break even at some point, at least the members are enjoying the new environment I have created for them.

Well, the members are the key and if just one gets helped in some important way, it'll be worth I'm sure.

Are we doing OK keeping this thread active do you think ;-)

keith1015Thu 31/01/08 22:42

yes will try to keep it active - just did an interview with gaydar radio yesterday to be broadcast next week on the breakfast show.

The weirdest interview I did was with a radio station in Eire. It went well but it was all the church this and the priest that and euros and stuff! My local radio seems to have me on now whenever anything even slightly gay happens locally. The most bizarre interview I did from the car park of a garden centre.

I should get more involved I guess. These sites deserve promotion so that gay dads can feel they are not alone. I know that is the overwhelming benefit of sites like www.gaydads.co.uk, www.gaydadsupport.net or www.gaydads.co.uk It's when guys read the site and realise, maybe for the first time they are not freaks trying to work with something on their own but that there are other guys who have been there already and will listen in a non judgemental way. There are sadly few worse than other gay guys for putting others down for not quite fitting in.

Just heard from Gaydar that the broadcast is going to be at 7.40 on Friday next week, so have a listen.

Keith.
