Finding Love in 2008

Hello all

Let me start by wishing you all a Happy and adventurous New Year. I am sure that there are many people on this forum who are single and they enjoy playing the field in their search for Mr Right. And granted - you have every right to do so.

There are many of us who became tired of playing the field who wants something more meaningful and stable. So we are ready to find a partner and settle down.

Then there may be some who feel that they don't need to find a partner and perhaps prefer to remain single at this time. This is also your right to do.

May I however, drop a few lines for everyone here to ponder. In my life I have also dated a number of guys, and as things go, ended up sleeping with them. I also had my fair share of 1 night stands, and I look back at my life with no regrets. I live life to the full.

Something I discovered is that in my search for a partner, I find that astrology did play some part. I found myself incompatible as a partner with some signs. I myself am a Fire sign, being a Sagittarius. I seem to get on well with other fire signs and Air signs. Some more than with others. With Earth signs I get on fairly well in the social environment , as friends or co-workers. But I do not get on too well on a romantic level with water signs. I find that where I have dated a few men who were water signs, the sex was passionate and intense, but the relationship was riddled with disagreements and quarrels. And we usually split up being very hurt.

I learnt that Fire and Air signs gravitate together, and Water and Earth signs are better suited for each other.

It also helps to do a Natal Compatibility Chart to see how compatible prospecting partners would be with each other.

By this I am NOT saying that Less compatible signs can NEVER be suited for each other. I am simply saying that their relationship will require a lot of hard work, and they will need to invest a lot more energy into it to make it a lasting relationship. I have met some guys that have been together for many years while being less compatible.

Perhaps this type of thinking will help society at large in dealing with issues like the High divorce rates etc.

Anyway, it would be interesting to see how many guys out there in relationships are more compatible or less compatible based on the above astrological model.

I myself have been together with my BF for just over 3 and a half years. He is Libra (Air sign) and I am Sagittarius (Fire sign). We also have areas in our lives that are not quite compatible - as we all do - but we cope for the moment.

How about the rest of you?

I've been out with a few Aquarians and although we got on I'm thinking I'm not suited to them at all (I'm a Capricorn).

I don't leave my fate down to the stars I am a firm believer that every relationship has it's ups and downs and it call comes down to the effort you put into it.

I think were all different andf I don't believe that the month I was born partly dictates certain characteristics in me.

I have been out with lots of people and have not noticed any particular patten as to star signs just guys I get on with and guys I don't.

That is fine...you are entitled to your perception.

I, however am inclined to be more spiritual. I think more spiritual people tend to be more open and inclined to this notion.

An ex of mine is a Virgo and I am a Piscean. He kept telling me throught the 4 years we were together how unsuited we were and I guess in the end he was right. My most recent was an Aries, although our birthdays were only 12 days apart (well 377 days actually!). That was stormy. So I guess that there may be something to it. I always thought that fire & water made for a steamy relationship, fire and air a firey relationship, fire and earth a hard relationship, earth and water a muddy relationship and so on.

I would have thought Virgo and Pisces make a good match. Its Earth Water and Water feeds Earth.

But then Virgos tend to have positive and negative traits. As a Positive they tend to be hard working, productive and analytical and orderly (I work with a few of them). But Virgos have a negative side to. They can be very critical amongst other things. So you would need to deal with their criticism which can sometimes be rather harsh.

I was married to an Aries wife for 10 years and we got on very well, besides the fact that I was gay (Oops!) but I also had a BF for 7 years who was a Pisces on the Aries cusp. And we are still in touch today, as friends.
