I am shocked and surprised. At college a fellow student on my course (diploma in counselling) has decided to do a presentation on sexuality with a few other students. Talking to me tonight they did not know there were gay pubs (they are straight) and didn't see why we should have them. They could not understand why we had gay pride around the world or the rainbow flag. They was not even aware that until the 60s that actively being gay could land you in jail. Also that gay hate crime happens. I do not expect a straight person to know gay life styles inside and out but to know this little has shocked me. What are your thoughts guys? |
