I've just got an irate voice mail from my Eldest brother about this years family xmas arrangements.

To cut a long story short, all my brothers and wives (parents arent around anymore) came to my house for xmas day. I was single so didnt mind having them round rather than being alone for the day. I have 4 brothers and only one other brother invites us round most xmas days. My other two brothers just make excuses about not inviting anyone round for any occasion. My eldest brother is a nightmare and took over the day as usual and bored us to death with some stupid game and going on about his holiday with photos! they have an idea about me being gay but don't want to know about it.

This year I waited for my invitation and it didnt come as usual. I also have a partner so we have sorted out our xmas and will be busy from the 23 until after the new year.

I text my brothers this morning to say I'd be dropping presents round on the 23rd and now my eldest brother has just left a voice mail saying that I am making no effort to keep the family together and demanding to know why he's not invited to my house this year.

What should I tell him?

Tell him it's up to EVERYONE to make the effort, and since you didn't hear from anyone you have made your own plans with your boyfriend.
