My nutty neighbour has purchased a chainsaw from Argos and is dressed in a bright yellow, hi-vis vest, chopping down trees where we live!

Trouble is... he hasn't got permission (or sense!) as it's a Housing Association Close and someone has just called the Police as well!

I was out there a few minutes ago trying to discourage him from the chopping-down wotsit but he assures me that he has permission from someone high-up at the Housing ... and that the trees need culling as they're using up too much air and he can't breathe - especially when he opens his windows!

Another neighbour who is a tree-hugger is furious and was attempting to tell the neighbour that trees produce oxygen from our carbon dioxide and don't use our air - but actually make it!

He's still having none of it and so far has chopped down 2 Silver Birches about 30 ft tall - one just missed a car as it fell, about 20 small conifers about 10 foot tall and is trying to chop down an 130 year old weeping willow - but the trunk is about 8 foot in diameter!

Plus the willow is half on our property line and half on the property of an old peoples home next door and the old people sit out in the conservatory where the tree could fall if not stopped soon!

Oh dear!

I'm tempted to photograph the devastation and mini-crowd that's gathered along with t' Police Officers but I feel sort of... wary!
