photoBorn many, many years ago ... and yet to learn the art of ageing gracefully (still 24 inside). Undemonstrative sort, but laid-back and seem to be good company. Speak some languages & enjoy good conversation; partial to leisurely walks (maybe beside the sea or a river) and seeing places. Footy-watcher, even now they're wearing long shorts! and given up on trying to lose my North-East accent.

A lucky buyer has secured one of Eric Clapton's guitars in an auction at Bonham's in NY.

"Eric Clapton has raised more than £1m selling some of his instruments at a charity auction in New York.

"The legendary rock guitarist sold over 70 items, including a 1948 Gibson hollow-body guitar which raised the highest price at $83,000 (£51,300).

"The auction at Bonhams New York included 75 guitars and 55 amps from the British artist's collection."

Among the 75 guitars which represented some of "his collection" was a replica of one of his early instruments, imitating all the real cigarette burns and buckle scratches.

How much would you pay for a guitar that Clapton just might have played once or twice, or a lovingly-fashioned copy of one?

I wouldn't.
