This is a group I saw on FB and thought I'd bring it here because I think its great

" Basically, a few nights ago, when I was very very drunk, I came up with the idea that everybody should go out and panic buy a certain product on a specific day.

I'm not quite sure what the reason behind this is is, other than the fact that a global shortage of carrots would be quite a laugh.

So, what I'm asking everybody to do, is on the 15th May, 2008 go out and buy a load of carrots. IF EVERYBODY DOES THIS, WE CAN MAKE THIS GLOBAL SHORTAGE OF CARROTS HAPPEN!

FAQ's

Why don't you change the display picture of the group to something carrot related?

-Honestly? I don't know, I just quite like it the way it is. Are you telling me you've joined a carrot panic buying group and expected the admins to be normal?

Can you make an event? Or some reminders?

-Yes, definitely. I will make an event soon, and I'll send out messages to remind people of all of this closer to the date.

What will we actually do with the carrots?

-Whatever you want! My aunt said that on the 16th they should be randomly (I hate that word) placed on different modes of public transport/at the cinema/in cafes etc, which I thought was pretty good. Also you can join the sister group here, which also has carroty ideas - http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=7297488951

Why carrots? Why? Why does this face book group exist? Why are you doing this to me?

-BECAUSE I HATE YOU AND YOU FAIL AT LIFE. No, I don't know, because for some reason this just came flowing out of my brain area and I couldn't really stop it. Sorry folks.

Is there a time we should do this? Or a particular supermarket?

-Well… I think we should all aim for 2pm, and try and buy them from Tesco, Waitrose, Sainsburys, you know, the big places. Obviously if you can't do 2pm, or don't have a supermarket in close proximity then anywhere, anytime is fine, just buy as many as you can! (Imagine the weird looks we're going to get. Christ.)

What about the starving kids in Africa? What about the Homeless people living in boxes, who can't afford sandwiches and coffee!? YOU PEOPLE ARE IDIOTS!

-Please be advised that the homeless HAVE been taken into consideration. There's not a lot that we personally can do about the starving kids in Africa, no matter how much i physically cry about the state of the world. It has been decided that a percentage of the carrots WILL be made into soup, cake, juice, and given to the Homeless of Croydon, Southampton, Bournemouth and London, mostly by Jadie. Please don't assume that we are as ignorant to have NOT thought about this. That's a serious note. "
