Myself and quickfind:noodle have been growing a little garden in our office for a while now.

We have just stripped off a load of leaves from the Mint plant and also the Black Peppermint plant.

They are currently steeping in boiled water to try and create a Tea right from our own office made with love and care!

Join us in celebration of office gardens and their produce!

And of course we will let you know if it is awful ................... or if you should start an office garden to!

Anybody else tried this?

Or does anybody else have anoffice garden? what do you grow?

We have

Cress
Mint
Black Peppermint
Parsely
Hyacinths (Not for eating though obviously!)
and a conifer.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated!

I read that as an orifice garden.

We do have an awful lot of cress growing around. I'm starting to feel insignificant against their sheer numbers.

My first slurp of the Tea is enjoyable...... I would like it a little stronger though

I like that suggestion, it would offer some great colour I imagine as well!

Which way does the garden face? Is it sunny or shady? What kind of soil?

:-)

We have a Window which gets a pretty good amount of sun but we can offer it darkness if needed.

As far as soils go, They are all potted so far and we can get whatever soil is required from a garden centre.

Bear in mind this is in a air conditioned office.

Though our current crops are dealing with the conditons so well I might describe the as "Flourishing"

The tigers start of green, go vivid deep purple, then brigh red.
They are hot too, so perfect for Thai cooking and the like

Sounds like a great thing to do in an air-conditioned office.

Why don't you add to the hyacinth idea with something else fragrant - grow some jasmine up some bamboos or suspended strings, for example?

You could also grow some rocket to put in your sandwiches and salads - you can pull off a handful of leaves and it keeps growing all season.
