An interesting article from the New York Times today linking coffee (but not tea) with cancer of the pancreas, where only 1 percent of patients survive for three years:

Very soon if scientist have their way we will not be able to eat, drink or do anything as it does us harm

then we will all die of boredom or starvation whichever gets us first

cancer is so varied in its causes and is so individual to each person that I believe virtually anything could have to potential to cause it.

Air causes cancer as well, avoid breathing at all costs!

To be honest if I gave up coffee there would be a lot more deaths and not related to cancer.

I agree, a lot depends on genetics, and many things have potential ill effects for someone.

This is yet another health fuelled scare campaign. If we listened and took onboard everything that all the research said we would not eat or drink anything, drink only filtered water and stuff a handful of vitamin and mineral tablets down our thoats every morning.

It is a fact of life that we are all going to die of something. Sometimes too much information is a bad thing.

I don't think I could live with myself if I cut out all the shit that I eat and drink. Coffee along with loads of things is now deemed to be bad - I already knew it wasn't particularly healthy, but I drink it to keep sane. Don't smoke, don't do drugs... coffee is civilisation to me.

I'm a great believer in attitude and outlook keeping you healthy. If you have a positive viewpoint and LOVE living, you are more likely to live longer and be healthier. If I start stressing about all the bad things that go into my body I'll probably get sicker more quickly anyway.

Think I'll carry on being voluntarily ignorant whilst quaffing my americano!

Coffee has some good health benifits as well
