photoI normally go through life with my feet in the clouds, and head firmly on the ground. It's more fun that way (although I like to swap ends occasionally). When I've got my feet and head on the ground at the same time, my arse sticks in the air. That can be fun too.

A friend of mine is a teacher in a very small primary school in Canada. One of her pupils (whose name I have changed) shows very strong signs of being somewhere on the Autism spectrum...more like autism than Aspergers. She posted this on a private area of another forum, and I thought I'd share it here to give it a wider audience, and improve the chances of getting some good advice:

"I have a student in one of my classes who has this [Aspergers], and more recently seems to be getting worse (although for awhile we thought he was getting better). He is completely untreated, and the parents are refusing to have him tested as they don't want him labeled (annoying as we can't get him a free assistant form the government...).

I and some fellow teachers have had to do our own research, as we don't want James to slip through the system. Oddly though I came across more than one article about diet.

I'm putting this out there on the [XYZ] section, as I want the opinions of those who may have heard about this or practiced, or at least have something to say about it.
If someone knows of some tools that can help us...please let me know.
James is currently 8, and very intelligent, but incredibly challenging socially. In the surrounds of a little school, he gets attention and has friends but once he leaves here, it won't be so easy. "

Any thoughts, anyone?
