Scams - they will try anything to get details

2 weeks ago there was an Audi car parked on the concourse of Central Station in Glasgow with a free prize draw to win the car

On the form you filled in your normal contact details.

Today I received a phone call from a call centre telling me that I had passed into the finalist stage to win the car - there was no mention that this was a 2 stage draw- and that they would like to offer me the chance to get 208 entries to the Euromillions- unfortunately the guy on the phone must be new as he promised me guaranteed winnings- he then advised me that tey would like to pay the winnings to me and how would I like to receive them, I asked if I could have it in cheque format but was told that they only paid directly into a bank account

I then asked how much it was going to cost me and he said it would be £9 but that would be deducted off my winnings I was also offered another card that would give me cashback of between 3% and 45% that they would also pay back to me directly into my bank

I refused to give them my bank details and asked for their head office as I was a bit concerned the guy refused and offered me their customer services number which was the same one I already had from when I phoned back the glasgow number displayed which only offered you the chance to remove the number from their list

I got a supervisor who told me the address of their head office based in London but I still declined to give them my details and have now reported them to trading standards and it looks like they have been running this scam for a while but their old approach was to phone and say they had won entry to the final round to win the car

I refused to give them my bank details but I wonder how many people will have just given them their bank details
