Jebus H Cripes...

Got a new account from the Halifax...what a pallaver. Do these people practice making things unclear or what? First off they activate the online account and tell me I need to credit it with £100. Then, having paid in £100 by internet banking, they send me a letter days later asking me to pay it by cheque. I'm assuming the internet thing is OK because it says underneath something about alternative ways to fund the account, but I'm not sure, and nowhere is this made clear.

It also comes with a form to fill in for my signature. This has three fields for one code, which makes me wonder if I'm supposed to fill in sort code and account number. Nothing anywhere even mentions the damn thing so I'm guessing I send it back with the rest. Not sure there. Not sure if I've filled it in right.

When I try to find a feedback thing on the website (to tell them they might want to consider improving their communications) all I can find is complaints, which involves the usual 24-hour, somebody-must-be-personally-assigned-to-it faff that I don't need for something like this. I end up telling them via an online help form, only to find that it won't let me because I've typed too many characters in explaining it all.

Argh!!

Is the Halifax usually this utterly useless when it comes to actually communicating with people? I've never seen anything like it...

In short I usually find the a pile of crap and would not touch them.
