Having worked in an office where people around me had been falling victim to this winter's cough from mid-November onwards, it was inevitable that I should also succumb.

So on December 20th the first symptoms were apparent. On the 21st I had to drive down to Heathrow, and the cough affected my sleep on that night.

On December 21st I flew out to Feldkirch for a Christmas holiday with JustYou. Lovely crowd of people, but I had now lost my voice, and I wasn't able to sleep on any night because of coughing. Even tried to sleep vertical with extra pillows.

People asked me "where is your voice" and I told them that I left it in England because I couldn't afford to fly it to Austria.

Flew back to Heathrow on the 28th, and immediately had to drive back to Bradford which I wasn't really fit enough to do. So I broke the journey at my sisters house in the midlands and spent 2nights there.

With my cold now a week old, and off-the-shelf remedies not resolving the cough, the earache or the loss of voice I went to see my sister's doctor. "Do you want Diazapam?" No I frigging well didn't, but I told him I needed help. Reluctantly he prescribed Amoxicillin which I took religiously for 7days, and it didn't make any difference.

But now after around 2weeks my voice is still not right, I have pressure in my ears and I cough all night long. (My phlegm is slight and is entirely clear). I don't have a temperature, and only feel ill because of loss of sleep and energy drained by coughing.

WHAT CAN I DO TO GET CURED ?
