Ok - so this thread is for ideas on how we can do better in next year's Eurovision Song Contest.

With the right entry, we could still do well - it's just that the songs we have chosen in recent years have been pretty lousy.

Here are some ideas on how to get a better entry next year:

* Camp does not equal cheese. The Ukraine entry was a perfect example of how a song can be camp but not cliched or at all manufactured - and note how Denmark failed to qualify with its bog-standard drag queen act. We need to make sure we vote for a song on its merits rather than its supposed level of camp.

* Big name, quality act. Let's choose one person/group to perform all the competing entries, so that we base our decision on the merits of the song rather than being distracted with personalities.

* Why sung in English? Why not enter a song in one of the other languages in use on these isles, such as Welsh?

What are your suggestions as to how the UK could choose a better entry next year?

I honestly think we should do what the Italians do and not even bother anymore.

The winners will always be Eastern European nations from now on as they take it very seriously and will try to side line us as we are hardly known for really getting into the spirit of it anymore.
