Well...I was as good as spot on with my predictions (as shown below...taken from quickfind:339346)

In just over 5 hours time this year's Oscars event will kick off.

So who's your money on?

Here are my predictions:

BEST PICTURE - A very close call between Juno and No Country For Old Men

PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A LEADING ROLE - Daniel Day-Lewis in "There Will Be Blood"

PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE - Javier Bardem in "No Country for Old Men"

PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A LEADING ROLE - Two stand out as clear possibilities. The majority I feel would support Ellen Page in "Juno"...but if they want to really recognise a moving piece of talent...then they'll go for Marion Cotillard in "La Vie en Rose". Out of the two...I think Cotillard should get it, by only by a margin.

PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A SUPPORTING ROLE - For a fresh alternative...the Academy are probably most likely to go for Saoirse Ronan in "Atonement". But I also have a feeling that Tilda Swinton in "Michael Clayton" might leave with the gong.

DIRECTOR - A real toughie! I think Jason Reitman - "Juno" is likely to win..but the critics' choice could walk away with it..Paul Thomas Anderson - "There Will Be Blood". It's going to be a close finish though.

ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY - Diablo Cody - "Juno"

ADAPTED SCREENPLAY - Paul Thomas Anderson - "There Will Be Blood"...or very possibly Ethan & Joel Coen - "No Country for Old Men"

ANIMATED FEATURE - Is there any real contest? I'd be very surprised if it's not "Ratatouille" - (Pixar; Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Distribution) Brad Bird

But here is the official winners list:

BEST ACTOR IN A LEADING ROLE - Daniel Day-Lewis for 'There Will Be Blood'

BEST ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE - Javier Bardem - for 'No Country for Old Men'

BEST ACTRESS IN A LEADING ROLE - Marion Cotillard for 'La Vie en Rose'
