Comedian, actor and writer Griff Rhys Jones will host the new series of It'll Be Alright On The Night.

Returning later this year on ITV1, Griff will take over presenting one of the longest running original clip-based shows on television from Dennis Norden who retired in 2006 after 30 years of broadcasting with the channel.

Michael Kelpie (Executive Producer) said:

"It'll Be Alright On The Night was, and still is, the original and greatest outtake show, enjoyed by generations of viewers for almost 30 years. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to bring such an iconic programme back to Saturday Night telly and, in Griff, we have found the perfect host to carry on the proud tradition of this much-loved and highly regarded ITV show."

Dennis Norden added:

"I am delighted that It'll Be Alright On The Night is returning to our screens. I wish Griff every success with his outtake hunting and hope he'll enjoy at least another 29 years on the show - but he's not having my clipboard."

Recognising that he's got big shoes to fill...Griff says:

"I was honoured to be asked to take up the golden clip-board from the master of catastrophe outtakes, Denis Norden, and now I hear he wants to keep it! Well, we will battle on. This is, after all, the tradition of It'll Be Alright On The Night – ‘battle on when disasters overwhelm.' I have boobed myself, I know the territory."

It won't be the same without you, Dennis!
