Amy Winehouse WILL sing the new Bond theme!

Yep, according to the tabloid newspaper Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson will write and record the theme to the new James Bond film next week! And going on (The Sun)'s previous Bond rumours...they normally are true.


The superproducer apparently arrived at Amy's house on Thursday night to take her things to his country retreat in Henley.

The Back To Black star will join him in the next few days and stay for a week to put together the biggest song (without a doubt) of their careers! It will feature in 22nd Bond movie Quantum Of Solace, which is out in October.

A source revealed:

"Amy and Mark are really excited. They see this as the biggest thing they have ever done.

Mark collected her clothes and guitar to take to his place. She will join him soon and they will lock themselves away to write and record the song.

They have no idea what they're going to do. In true Amy fashion, they're going to busk it.

But I'm sure it will be brilliant. The new Bond film is supposed to be really dark so Amy will fit the bill perfectly."




As yes...the Bond camp haven't made an official announcement. But I am sooo hoping that this is true!

I shall be keeping my ear to the ground to see if I can find confirmation on this :)

Producers said that she can have the part..IF she remained clean until April. Apparently (please don't quote me on this)...she has.

I don't understand what all the appeal is about her, frankly. Just because her voice sounds bluesy and "black", she's had all these breaks.

If you ever saw her perform live, as I did, you'd marvel at how such an awkward scrap of nothing can produce such a powerful noise...

Somebody said the other day that Winehouse is this era's answer to Edith Piaf.

I quite like that comparison.

I saw some of her televised live gig from Shepherd's Bush a few days ago. For someone who has done plenty of gigging, it was pretty damn scary. She was in slow meltdown, and it was only because she had fantastic backing musicians that the whole thing didn't fall apart. I'm with quickfind:steppin - I think public fascination with the spectacle of a persona in slow self-destruct is a big part of the mass-appeal.

Anyhow, "Quantum of Solace"? What a horrible, horrible mistake. At least no-one will ever confuse the writer with Ian Fleming...

You do realise, don't you, that they took the title from one of Flemming's own short stories - so yes, Flemming did write a story with that exact name.
