I've read a lot of Graham Hancock who's examined this and I think if memory serves it's just where their calander ended, it didn't mean the world would end. The Maya have had a few calendars over their reign. Although apparently (again if I remember correctly) their last ruler knew a disaster would strike his people, which some people beleive this co-incided with the Spanish occupation and slaughter of the Maya. |
