A recent press update from Taylor Herring - holders of the Doctor Who PR account - indicates that we're looking at an April broadcast for Doctor Who Series 4.

This is contrary to what was previously expected - that the series would kick off on Easter weekend, as per the previous three runs.

Easter weekend is Friday 21st-Sunday 23rd, so it wouldn't be unusual to see Doctor Who air on that weekend, Saturday 22nd.

Ruling out the following weekend (29th) as this is not in April either, the soonest Doctor Who could therefore broadcast is Saturday April 5th - FA Cup semi final weekend.

So... Doctor Who on April 12th...?

If confirmed, this wouldn't however be too much of a shock - it's unlikely that Torchwood and Doctor Who would overlap, and the adventures of Captain Jack and co have another 8 weeks to run on terrestrial television, bringing us up to April 9th - just a few days before the 12th.
