photoWriter and computer spod (thankfully doing more of the former after far too long hung up on the latter!). My area of work is the performing arts -- specifically, theatre and television -- and, while I know far too much about the latter, am always looking for people to accompany me to the former! Always interested in meeting new friends, especially those willing to help me celebrate becoming a published author!

Just back from the press launch (see my report on the TV Today blog: http://www.thestage.co.uk/tvtoday/2007/12/what_do_you_call_a_blowfish_in_a_sports_car_behind.php).

The first line of the new series is "Excuse me, have you seen a blowfish driving a sports car?"

Lots of gay content in the first episode - James "Spike" Marsters plays another former Time Agent with whom Jack had a history (they were a couple for two weeks, but were in a time loop at the time, so the relationship lasted five years). Fair bit of snogging between the two, but it's the relationship between Jack and Ianto that seems to be being developed further, wit the two of them rather sweetly arranging to go on a 'proper' date at some point.

Gwen and Rhys are engaged at the start of series 1, and their relationships builds up to a wedding near the end of the series. Rhys finds out when Gwen's really been up to in her day job, and PC Andy gets more of a recurring role this time round.

All in all, the first episode seems lighter and more confident in itself than Series 1 did. But then, so did the first episode of the first series, so maybe it'll all go downhill from here...

I saw something on YouTube that could only be Torchwood. It was a clip involving Jack and it looked like he was stuck in the 40s and snogging some guy and dancing with him. Was this Torchwood? I admit not seen that much of it but peaked my interest.
