But it does seem to ride with the Who theme that all good things must come to an end..

mrp2910Wed 05/03/08 10:45

but its common knowledge that this is the last series for a few years anyway and it was stated that tennent will return when it comes back

i think i am more outraged at the "dumbing down" of torchwood though

Well one of the actors mentioned in that article has stated categorically that there is no truth in rumours that they are in discussions with the BBC about it, and that the matter has not even been raised or suggested, which casts doubt on the accuracy I woudl think.

I hope thats all bollocks cos it doesn't sound good at all...

...well apart from cutting down on the so called 'adult themes' in Torchwood. I wouldn't miss that at all.

But actors can neither confirm nor deny rumours until an official confirmation at the appropriate time.

Someone told me that I should watch episode 11...no matter what.

Who knows, but I have long thought that Tennant would do the four specials and regenerate at the end of the fourth. He's been far too coy about his future with the show for me to believe that he has any commitment to it beyond those specials. And, by not filming a series this year, they could start shooting series 5 earlier in the year in 2009 so that the new Doctor, if indeed there is one, could begin his adventures on BBC1 in January 2010, thus enabling the show to occupy the much preferable January-April slot, and getting it out of the March/April-June/July slot that it's currently stuck in.

What I find less credible in the report is that they are already well into filming the four specials. Per the last edition of DWM, there were still 3 or 4 episodes of series 4 left to film, and given the time that it has taken them to them to film 14 episodes these past 3 years, often only completing principal photography within weeks of a series premiere, I could imagine that they might be just about to start filming the four specials, if indeed they are to piggy-back filming for these onto the filming of series 4, but to already be most of the way through filming them, given that they are presumably at least an hour long each, and the time it takes them to film, I just find that hard to believe.

I like the idea of Donna turning out to be a nasty piece of work though - kinda like Turlough all over again, only a bit prettier (I never saw the attraction of Turlough - sorry - I thought he was a minging little runt). Anyhoo, I like that idea for Donna, and it'll certainly spice things up aboard the TARDIS, particularly in the finale!

just occured to me

highly doubtful about the specials being filmed now as the general rule of thumb seems to be get some one thats in vogue at the time to star in them i.e kylie, tate

do they know who is hot to trot for christmas 2009 already?

But principle photography is something that can start a year or two in advance. Couldn't the same be the case for the specials? Ok...so filming with characters might not be the case...but sets and effects?

possibly

im just trying to rip that article to shreds

Can't wait for the new series of Who to begin with all the companions including Rose coming back... the TARDIS will be very cramped.
