photoLife should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - martini in one hand - burger in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "Whooooooo what a ride!"

It's finally happened.
After living here for about 6 years, and planning this for 4 years, I've finally got round to decorating the bathroom. Woo!

When I bought this place, the previous owners had just finished decorating, and the bathroom was the last to do. Crap temporary carpet on the floor, no panels round the bath, that sort of thing. The rest of the house was fine.
So I never quite felt the urgency to do that bathroom - I mean, one doesn't spend that much time there so it can wait.

However, over the past couple of months I'v selected the colour scheme, bought the bath panels, bought more wood to box pipes, bought a belt-sander for the floor boards and even bought the F&B paint. I could put it off no longer.

So, with 'im indoors away visiting friends for a week, I decided to book a few days off work and get down to it.

Simple job - just paint the walls, lift the poorly fitted carpet, sand the floorboards, and paint them.

Well.

Almost.

Turns out that when they fitted the shower, they really made a mess of the floorboards, cutting them willy-nilly and screwing them back down, with nasty gaps between them. Doh!
Sadly, none of this was visible when I lifted part of the carpet for initial exploratory investigations, and I didn't discover it until after emptying the room and starting the work.

Ah well, it's nothing some "plastic wood" sealant stuff won't cope with, so now that's been bought we're back on track.

Done two coats of the walls, ran out of paint, ordered another can from F&B which should arrive in a day or so for the final two coats.
Fill the floor tomorrow then undercoat that, and see how it goes.

Hmm, so much for being finished by Wednesday, but it's all good fun.
AND I get to play with power tools - what more could I want? :)

Most surprisingly, no disasters as yet.
Which is unlike me, but at the same time encouraging.

Dunno why I'm telling anyone this, but I've not done decorating for years so it's fun.

Mind you, it is making me change my other plans - I've gone from planning to redo the entire house, to being determined to finish the bathroom then get a man in to do the rest!
