really fabulous.lovely atrium space in the centre of this wonderful , quite palatial museum.Quiet, calm, spacious, elegant without being stuffy. Charming unhurried and efficient french staff at lunch last saturday ( i've heard it is busier during the week). and the food is simply delicious. I always think the bread and butter they bring is a basic test of a good restaurant and here I could gladly have eaten that alone ( and in fact I have done on a previous visit) - very, very good. All three courses good but the dessert was quite simply the best I have eaten in a restaurant in London. But be warned it's not cheap - we paid a troubling 45 pounds each for a three course lunch with wine. Of course we were there for hours and had a delightful stagger around the sumptuous galleries afterwards feeling very full indeed - had to walk all the way to Piccadilly to even think about tea.....a really delightful day. |
