I did!photo:604566
I was wide awake and thankfully locally anaesthetised while it was being done.
I had (until yesterday morning at 9.00 am) a common but often left un-treated condition called (FRENULUM BREVE) or Short Frenulum.
The operation I had was called a FRENULOPLASTY
In a simple 10 minute procedure under local anaesthetic (lignocaine) I had the frenulum cut horizontally into a V shape and then stretched adding 1" to its length and finally 5 dissolvable stitches applied which will fall out in 7 - 10 days.
The only thing I felt during the whole procedure was a "Little prick..." as the lignocaine syringe went into the area just below the head of the penis and a 2 second sort of bruising sensation and then complete numbness.
Now, I have an extra 1" lengthening of the Frenulum which, if I had known about , I would have got done many years ago.
The frenulum, now lengthened will take about 2 weeks to heal and got to wait about 10 days for the stitches to fall out and then abstain from intercourse (Surgeon said...) for four weeks! That bit is EASY! :-)
I wanted to post this topic about Frenulum Breve (Short Frenulum) and the procedure Frenuloplasty (or Frenulectomy) to share what I have learned about it with any other guys who think they might have an over tight or short frenulum.
Initially (years ago) I thought the problem I had was a foreskin which was a little too tight and was always careful not to be too rough during sex as it was painful.
I eventually went to the GP about this just a few weeks ago and it was he who told me that the foreskin was fine - but the frenulum (the band of skin/tissue on the underneath of the penis just attached to the glans and the top of the penis before the glans starts) was the problem.
I was gobsmacked that I hadn't realised that this was the problem but looking back I can now see that this area was always the point of pain. When erect, the shortness of the frenulum would cause my penis to bend in the shape of a banana causing a slight pain in the penis and a certain pain in the frenulum.
During sex or wanking if I or my partner (at the time) was too rough the frenulum would become really painful but as the whole glans area is sensitive I had mistook this pain (sometimes) to be over-sensitivity and with going slower/gentler the pain would subside.
I was always surprised over the years about how some men (most of them actually) could be really rough and vigorous with their own cocks, whilst I was always cautious and erring towards the gentle treatment.
It's amazing that it's only now I'm in my 40's I've discovered what the problaem has been all these years and that I've had the treatment which has totally CURED it.
I have to admit that I hadn't heard of Frenulum Breve until the GP told me about it and showed me how it was affecting me so the main reason for this post again is to share what I have discovered.
Here's a pic of a penis showing the condition of Frenulum Breve (not mine!) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/de/e/e7/Frenulumbreve.jpg The frenulum in this pic is the tight band of tissue at the base of the head (glans) of the penis where it joins the shaft. You can see how the glans is bent over by the shortness/tightness of the frenulum.
Another pic here, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Image_of_frenulum.jpg shows how the short/tight frenulum causes the top of the glans to almost part down its middle which must be uncomfortable for the guy in the pic.
One more pic showing the tightness of the frenulum and the distortion in shape of the penis http://www.circlist.com/styles/styleimages/frenulumbreve.jpg
The following image is that of a guy similar to the ones above who has had the procedure I had yesterday - Frenuloplasty - http://www.male-initiation.net/library/gallery/frenuloplasty/afb/plasty3.jpg the small stitches are very similar to the ones that I have and will dissolve in about 10 days time.
You can see from that pic that there is no apparent stretching/tightness and the glans/head of the penis is not bent or distorted. Right now this is how mine looks and I'm really pleased with the result.
When I woke this morning I had an erection (as always!!) and it felt excellent - no discomfort, no pain, and there was no apparent bending of the glans and banana-shaped shaft which I'd gotten used to over so many years!
I hope I've explained the procedure and the topic well enough for anyone interested but feel free to ask any questions and I'll add to this topic as my procedure heals to update on the progress!!
One thing the GP said which made a lot of sense is that many people who have a tight frenulum are advised to get circumcised as the FIRST option by most GP's when in most cases this isn't at all necessary.
Apparently - most guys frenulums are extremely sensitive and pleasurable when touched or stroked i.e. erogenous zone!
In my experience any touch there previously was at the least annoying and at worst PAINFUL!
The Surgeon said yesterday that I may now find I have a whole new sensation now the pain element has been removed as the nerve is still intact!!
Also, because the previous bending of the penis has been cured by the lengthening of the frenulum, my cock will appear longer and the feeling of sex/wanking will potentially feel different!
Feels like I've got a whole brand new willy to experiment with!!
I hope this topic has helped anyone who is interested in Frenuloplasty/Frenulum Breve. If you have any questions, feel free to ask but above all if you are experiencing pain or discomfort and think you have this condition - go see your GP, get a diagnosis and get it done!
There's loads more information on the Internet you can research but not many photos to be honest.
I can recommend this procedure 100% - totally pain free so far, free of embarrassment from start to finish - and so incredibly common, treatable, easily and above all CUREABLE!
