Not being religious or the slightest bit interested in a "secular Christmas", it might not get eaten for Christmas. It's just that I like this type of cake and I decided to cook one.

In the recipe it has a rather curious instruction: when cold, spike its bottom several times with a skewer and pour over between 4 and 8 tablespoons of Guinness. Between 4 and 8? How do I know how many is right? Is it something to do according to how pissed I want to get when I eat it?

The other problem is that it's in a very cool oven for a long time. The dinner that I planned for tonight doesn't cook well in my halogen oven, so I can't really have it. I'm undecided between having a Chinese, a pizza or going to the corner shop and buying something that can be cooked on the hob or in the halogen oven. I think that I'm feeling indecisive because I feel like eating something healthier than I'm likely to get from the Chinese, the pizza shop or the local corner store. Does anyone have a suggestion?

The cake is, I think, quite healthy for a cake. It contains so much fruit that I think that each slice will give me 15 of my 5 a day!
