Having got through January, working without a day off (well ok, I had the best part of a day off for the Aldwych Station visit), I've had a few days of really doing very little this week.

Yesterday I realised that despite heavy activity in my Outlook inbox, I hadn't actually received any work emails since last Thursday lunchtime. Now I'm pretty certain that I should have had quite a lot of emails since then, so I was quite alarmed.

My hosting is done by Canadian Web Hosting in errrm Canada (don't ask!) and they responded quickly saying there had been spammers on the server and that it would be resolved shortly. I accessed my email through Horde but there was no sign of my main inbox, only two other accounts which are generally unused. A further email solicited the response that my account would be transferred to another server. After that I couldn't even log in to Horde at all.

This morning nothing had changed, so a further email solicited a rapid response that the Horde database had been corrupted and that all should be fine. Yes, I could now log back on to Horde, my inbox was there but no sign of any emails between lunchtime last Thursday and lunchtime today.

A further email has resulted in yet another promise that my account would be switched to a different server, and I guess they did it and all mail was sent through once again... but still no sign of the missing mail.

I've once again mailed them about three hours ago, but no response as yet. How likely is it that I'll be able to retrieve those missing emails?
