Bf is getting ideas about a hard drive to hook up to our home network. Thing is, ideally he wants something that can kinda auto-backup - what he has in mind is something that takes 2 hard drives and raids them. He found the Netgear SC101 on the internet, but on closer inspection I've found a number of people complaining rather loudly that the raid is some bizarre software-based setup that isn't recognized if something goes wrong and you have to stick the drives in a computer and try and recover them. And apparently it does go wrong quite often. |
