I just got off a 50 minute phone conversation with BT and i am about to burst into flames or something!
I noticed yesterday evening that I couldn't make or receive phone calls anymore. I called BT to report a fault with my line. The lovely lady (NOT!) on the phone told me that there was no landline at my address (i wonder what i've been using since december then...).
I told her that I did order a landline online when I moved in 2.5 month ago and gave her the order number. She said they never received the £25 deposit (they never asked for it!!) and that the order was cancelled and I would have to order a new line with a new number and everything.
I called them two weeks ago because I hadn't received an invoice for my landline since I moved in and they told me then that I was on a 3-month-billing plan and should receive it at the end of February. He checked my phone number and everything!!!! Shouldn't they have noticed that there was no landline????
So after ordering a new phone line (and being on the phone for almost 50 minutes) I give her my card details and she comes back to me with "Sorry, we can't reach your bank right now. Could you please call back later" AAAAARGH!
On top of that, I thought I just let Orange (my internet provider) know that there is a problem with my land line (Internet was still working yesterday even though the phone wasn't). I explained them what happened with BT and they guy checked my connection. He comes back to me and says "Well, sir, your internet connection is still working but I told the tech team to disconnect it" WHAT? NO! That's not what I asked for!!!
So no broadband or phone at home. my client (i'm a part-time freelance designer) will be thrilled!!!
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
