Writer and computer spod (take your pick), equally at home talking about theatre, television and the arts as Ruby, Rails, PHP, web development and agile programming. Or, if you prefer, stuff which isn't boring at all. Always interested in meeting new friends, especially if you can help me offload the occasional plus-one theatre ticket!

I've been lucky enough to see the first two episodes of Jonathan Harvey's (Beautiful Thing, Gimme Gimme Gimme) new sitcom, Beautiful People, which starts on Thursday evening (BBC2, 9.30pm). For anybody dreading the grotesques of Gimme Gimme Gimme, rest assured -- this is a much more mature comedy. It's still relentlessly funny, but I'd put it on a par with US series such as My Name Is Earl in terms of being consistently funny and heartwarming. |
